Taipei Air Station and US Service People in Taiwan, 1950 -

My friend Kent Mathieu, now retired from the Service, has set up a website for US service personnel who were in Taiwan prior to our derecognition of the island.

http://www.taipeiairstation.com

If you know of someone in the Service with images and stories, a website, or similar, that dates from this period, please let him know.

And further, check out the links because they lead to some wonderful old photos and stories!

After the US recognized China, wasn't it Taiwan that cut ties with the US and not visa versa?

Anybody?

Believe so - but it didn't start there. Once the UN recognized the PRC, the ROC government had little choice by to walk out and sever official diplomatic ties with the US
