Subject: Mar 16-17 Conference on Taiwan human rights & social mvmts
Dear Friends,
Prof. Steve Chen of Chang Jung University (Presbyterian university in Tainan) has put together a conference that will be run March 13-14 (Mon-Tues) in Tainan, and March 16-17 (Thurs-Fri). The two programs will be about the same, and will be presented simultaneously in English and Chinese; about half the speakers will present in English, I believe. I am on the program.
In Taipei the location is at the Presbyterian Church headquarters, No. 3 Lane 269, Section 3, Roosevelt Road, which is just a few blocks from National Taiwan University. The entrance to the lane is across from Taiwan Power building.
This might be a good occasion to learn more about Taiwan history, mostly in English, with the Presbyterian Church that played a historic role. You are welcome to forward this on to others who might be interested.
