March for Tibet on Saturday

Bo Tedards, one of my favorite Taiwan commentators, passed this around:

++++++++++++

I bring to everyone's attention that there will be a rally and parade in support of Tibet this Saturday, March 10, being the annual commemoration of the Lhasa uprising of 1959 which led to the military takeover of Tibet and the exile of His Holiness and his supporters.

It starts at 9 in front of the Taipei City Council, so it should be possible to attend for a while, then slip off to the breakfast club meeting, for those of you who are planning to go to that. If I understand correctly, the few speeches (including one by His Holiness read on his behalf by his representative here), flag raising ceremony, etc. should be at the beginning of the event.

Happened to be in AIT and see an article on Tibet in the Rolling Stone magazine. I see that there is an online version available that includes "six things you can do to help make the 2008 Beijing Olympics a catalyst for change in Tibet".
